Multi Layer Bellows. Expansiestukken.
EXPANSION JOINTS - PIPELINE COMPENSATORS.
Leidingcompensatoren - specialist in large sizes.
Pipes are subjected to expansions created by different temperatures, pressure,
external movements and from pipes weight too. Where the values of strengths and
the movements overcome the acceptable values, it is necessary the use of
expansion joints that allow to absorb the
different thermal expansion.
Some studious of engineering
have declared that the employment of metallic expansion joints
is preferred, because their flexibility absorbs movements in
more directions with success, so that there is a considerable reduction of
exercise costs (manpower).
Furthermorethe losses of head and
thermal dispersions are contained, with particular benefit to pipes
having big diameter. The expansion joint, to be able to exploit its own
functions, must be chosen and projected according to working conditions. To the
aim, and to allow a careful study, the technical offices are at client
disposal to examine the best solutions for every specific situation.
The expansion joints are classified according to the kind of expansion that they
are able to absorb, as follows:
Axial - Universal - Hinged - Gimbal - Lateral - Spherical lateral - Pressure
balanced axial and Pressure balanced.
All the expansion joints are manufactured according to:
ASME VIII div. 1e2 - EJMA
- RINA - ISPESL - TUV.
THE BELLOW:
The bellow is the
fundamental part of the expansion joint and it is obtained by hydraulic or
mechanic trial from stainless steel or alloy steel having only one longitudinal
welding.
A controlled behaviour produces a set of parallel metallic waves, that ensure
maximum flexibility and reliability.
The system of calculation furnishes the stress analysis of the bellows, which
allows to make calculations according to customers specifications.
THE
MATERIAL:
The basic material to be
used for the moulding of the bellows, have to meet the following
characteristics:
efforts resistant.
corrosion resistant
weld ability
For these
reasons, the material more used is the AISI 321 Stainless Steel ( max. temp.
800°C
)
For superior values of temperature or
corrosion it is used AISI 316 / 316L Stainless Steel, or alloy steels as
Inconel, Incoloy, Hastoloy, Nickel and Monel.
